Whiteface Mountain- Gilmanton, NH 01-22-06
A great 1 to 1-1/2 hour hike one way. A bit longer in a Jeep, our favorite form of non-footed transportation up Whiteface. Winter conditions (if you call it that) have been a little warm this year in NH. Like there's no snow or ice on the lakes in central NH. This trail is usually all snow. Right now ,01-22-06, all the rain and runoff have resulted in major ice.
Duke checks out the ice. Pretty solid for a dog. This is an excellent hole for a Jeep during the summer time.
Birch bark is very nutritious during the wintertime. Almost as high in fiber as rocks are.
More good Jeep water holes. If only it was summer.
